Water is Western Colorado's most vital resource. By educating both adults and children about water, we can can ensure that this and future generations will learn to respect the value of water and continue to use water carefully and wisely.

Teachers can find information for K-12 lesson plans, experiments and other classroom materials to assist in teaching a water-oriented curriculum. Check out Water: The Key to Life, a 24-minute video about the value and uses of water in Western Colorado produced by the Colorado River District and available at no cost.

Project WET Unveils Colorado River Watershed Curriculum

Project WET (Water Education for Teachers)

has released its latest "Discover a Watershed"

guide focused on the Colorado River Basin.

An extensive array of lessons, games and

teaching tools are featured.

The Project WET website has also posted several lesson plans not included in the guide.

An activity booklet for kids age 8-12

is available in both English and Spanish.

Could You Be a Weather Observer?
The Colorado Climate Center is looking for volunteers of all ages to participate in its Community Collaborative Rain and Hail Study (CoCoRaHS). Data collected through this project will help weather professionals better understand local weather impacts and trends.
